Taking Care of Your Treadmill

There are a few procedures you can follow in order to ensure the treadmill continues to perform at its optimum and for a long time to come.

  • Dust the parts of the treadmill regularly with a clean yet damp cloth. Ensure dust doesn’t get under the belt as this will cause it to wear out quickly and get damaged. Also, only use the machine with clean shoes that are dust free.
  • Keep the machine completely shut down during times it is not in use.
  • After continuous use, you will notice that the running belt becomes loose. To cater for this, turn both the left and right adjustment bolts a complete clockwise turn. Ensure however that the belt is not too tight as this will affect the performance of the treadmill.

How to lubricate the treadmill

To ensure the proper functioning of the treadmill as well as a prolonged life, you need to lubricate.

The lubricant is to be applied between the running deck and the belt. To do this, simply raise one side of the belt and apply. You can use a cloth for this. Repeat the procedure on the other side.

If the lubricant is not applied, the friction between the running board and the belt will result in the belt wearing off and tearing.
