Fitbit Flex 2

Fitbit rolled out the Flex 2 Fitness Wristband along with Charge 2. What’s the reason behind releasing two fitness tracking wristbands? Why is this wristband called the Flex 2? What are the salient qualities and features of the Fitbit Flex 2 Fitness Wristband?

We can very well describe the Flex 2 wristband as the sequel to the earlier version of this fitness tracker – the Fitbit Flex Wristband. The Flex series comprises of entry-level fitness trackers that perform the basic tracking functions, but lack the more advanced features. Flex 2 Wristband’s predecessor – Fitbit Flex only had sleep and basic activity tracking features. Fitbit has updated these functionalities and added phone notification and waterproof feature in Flex 2. Like other Fitbit activity trackers, the user gets to use customizable accessories with the Flex 2 Wristband.

The Salient Qualities and Features of the Fitbit Flex 2 Fitness Wristband

Design and Color Options: The tracker component fits easily into any band as it is 30% smaller than the previous version. In comparison to its predecessor, the Flex 2 is narrower, comes with textured exterior, and fits just right without pressing the skin too tight. The Fitbit Flex 2 comes in many color options; you can pick the color that suits your taste. Navy, magenta, lavender, and black are some of the color schemes that are available. The Fitbit Flex 2 package you get will have two different-sized wristbands.

On the Wrist and Around the Neck: The tracker component can also be worn around the neck, as part of a pendant. But, wearing around the neck you won’t be able to use the SmartTrack and sleep tracking functionalities.

Fitbit Fitness App: Like all other products of Fitbit, the Flex 2 comes with a companion application that’s compatible with Apple and Android. If you don’t have a profile, you can create a new one and start using the app. The mobile app will prompt you to enter your age, gender, weight, height, etc. You also get to set your fitness goals in the app.

Calls and Text Notification: Your access to notification and calls are quite limited. A row of LEDs are the only visible indicators. Users can customize the wristband to receive vibration pulse every time a call or message is received. Along with the vibration pulse, you’ll also see the white and blue LED flashes. If you so want, you can set the wristband to notify you every time you get a Facebook, WhatsApp messages, etc.

Activity Tracking and SmartTrack: You can forget about the Fitbit Flex 2 Wristband once you pair the band with the app. Your activities will be automatically tracked; this includes your sleeping pattern as well. The gadget can track multiple activities such as running, walking, swimming, aerobic workout, outdoor biking, elliptical, and sport.
