A set of adjustable dumbbells might be costly, but it saves you from spending money on different sets of regular dumbbells.

Conclusion

The type of dumbbell to choose depends on the type of workout you want to do and how strong you are. If you are very strong and can lift heavy weight like 80 pounds or more, it will be okay to lift regular dumbbells as it will be sturdier. If you are the type that is not strong and trains with various set of people, then adjustable dumbbells will be what you need.
